Assumption and Correlation Tests

In this assignment you will perform and interpret two statistical tests:
an assumption test for normal distribution and a correlation test.

Using the readings, media, and resources discussed to date, perform an
assumption test to determine if the data you intend to use for the
correlation tests is normally distributed (see How to Check Data, linked
in Resources). The normal distribution test must be done for the HDAP
variables AGE and Pre-yoga PSS Score.
Create a scatterplot. To visually explore the relationships of the
variables in your data, create a single scatterplot using the following
two HDAP variables: AGE and Pre-Yoga PSS Score.
Next, perform the appropriate correlation test to determine the
direction and strength/magnitude of the relationship between these two
variables (AGE and Pre-yoga PSS Score). Remember, we are not concerned
about causation and want to determine only if there is a statistical
association.

Assumption and Correlation Tests

Submit the “figures and tables” SPSS .spv file that shows your multipage
output for this assignment, then submit a 2–3 page paper in which you:

Provide a scatterplot of the selected variables (copy and paste the
output from SPSS into Word per the how-to document linked in Resources).
Provide the graphic (histogram and curve) for each variable you are
testing for normal distribution.
Provide a statistical interpretation (is the variable normally
distributed or not?) and justify your interpretation.
Using the DNP capstone paper and this dataset, report the statistical
outcome of the correlation analysis using the appropriate scholarly
style. Use only exact (SPSS reported) p-values, not estimations.
Interpret the overall clinical meaning (and limitations) of the
relationship of these two variables based on the correlation analysis
you performed and any literature support you find regarding age and stress.
Find and report at least one peer-reviewed study that either confirms or
conflicts with your results regarding the relationship between age and
stress.
Interpret the overall clinical meaning (and limitations) of the
relationship of these two variables based on the correlation analysis
you performed and any literature support you find regarding age and stress.
